When it comes to our range of UVB canopies, we have a selection of four different options. Each uses different combinations of light tubes. The entry level option contains 5 Philips TL01 Narrowband Tubes and costs £1860. The following option combines 4 TL01 tubes with 5 RUVA tubes and is priced at £1950. Additionally, there’s also an option for one with 7 Philips TL01 Narrowband Tubes and 2 RUVA tubes at £2200. The combination units offer you access to full body n-UVB phototherapy at a lower price point, with the option to upgrade all the tubes to n-UVB at a later date, when budget permits. Finally, we stock a canopy with 9 Philips TL01 Narrowband Tubes at £2370, this is our most popular and most powerful canopy. Depending on your choice, you have the option to use all of the canopies standing up or laying down.

Philips TL01 Narrowband UVB Tubes 

The more expensive options include more of the Philips TL01 tubes. The Philips narrowband tubes are world-leading tubes and are the leading brand and type of light tube most suitable for treating skin conditions that react positively to UVB light therapy, especially psoriasis, vitiligo and eczema. Recommended by both doctors and dermatologists worldwide, they are used in hospitals and clinics across the globe. Therefore, you know that by buying a UVB canopy fitted with Philips TL01 tubes that you are buying a quality unit and you can rely on them to work for you, helping you to control your condition and lead a normal life. 

The RUVA tubes that are included in some of the cheaper options here simply means they will emit up to 4% of UVB light, compared to 78% from the Philips TL01 narrowband tubes; it is the UVB content that helps to treat the various skin conditions. 

What to Expect 

If we take into account our UVB canopy that makes use of all 9 Philips TL01 narrowband tubes, you can expect to see results of clearer skin within around 4 to 8 weeks, starting with just a few seconds of exposure every other day and building session times up gradually. The canopy is a slightly curved shape giving your skin maximum coverage, designed to fit the contours of the body, so every centimetre of your skin can benefit from the ultraviolet light therapy by having a session and your front and then on your back. It’s important to remember that the exact amount of time for you to see a difference will vary depending on you as an individual, so the 4 to 8 week window should be seen as a rough guideline rather than an absolute. The UVB canopy units with less Philips TL01 Narrowband tubes may mean slightly longer session times to get similar results.

Also remember that our canopies are available at 0% finance and are delivered Free to 98% of Mainland Britain. Clients with chronic skin conditions can purchase these products with exemption of VAT (exemption price shown). For your reference, a chronic condition is that which is either constantly present, or if it regularly recurs.
